Patents are an obstacle to global adoption of green technologies

Managing the crisis of changing climates is priority for regions affected by, and regions threatened by, serious climate change. Collaborative design and build innovations are needed to accelerate development of green technological solutions.

A key component to adopting green technologies is having the technology available at affordable prices[1] including the availability of design documentation.  Localized builds and implementations are best able to minimize environmental impact through shorter supply chains and likely gain from the wisdom of local field experience in handling local variations. Collaboration is further accelerated by more opportunities for feedback and shorter feedback cycles.

One poorly applied patent on green technologies could quash significant developments for a decade or more.  "..environmentally friendly technology should not be patented..[1]"
